Blossoms Model United Nations (2023-24)

The Blossoms Model United Nations is an annual event that was first started in 2017. It is organised by the students under the guidance of Social Studies educators of The Blossoms School. This was the sixth edition of the BMUN. A total of 100 students participated in the three-day event, and the guests of honor were Faiza Abbasi and Nazish Naqvi.


One of the highlights of the visit was Mr. Sanjay’s demonstration of various elements associated with a post office. He introduced the students to different types of stamps and their significance. The students were particularly excited to see rare and collectible stamps from different parts of the world. Mr. Sanjay explained the importance of stamps in postal services and how they are used to indicate the payment of postage.

The inauguration of the BMUN was on the 25th of December, 2023. The panel commenced at 9 a.m. on the 26th. The delegates were made up of students of classes VII through X. There were three committees in the panel- WHO and the Lok Sabha, which had 30 delegates each, and the UNSC, which had 33.

The UNSC delegates had a panel on how peacekeeping operations were being strengthened, while delegates of the Lok Sabha discussed the reservation policy in education and employment.

The WHO focused on the development of digital healthcare and telemedicine, as well as the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges to mental health in a digital age. The session ended at 5:30 p.m., after which there was a bonfire and high tea for the participants and guests.



The second part of the event started at 9 a.m. on the following day and continued till 6 p.m., after which a prize distribution ceremony was held. The winners and runners-up were presented with medals and certificates. The best delegates from the Lok Sabha and the WHO were Omair Ahmad and Falisha Zia respectively, while the prize for best delegate from the UNSC was shared by Mohammad Zaid and Mohammad Yusuf. The international press, headed by Aliza Agha and Minza Maryam, reported the details of the events and took the minutes of each panel. Mohammad Shaharyar, the IT head, designed the placards and certificates, and also edited the videography. Students of class VI made up the organising committee, and were tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that the event proceeded smoothly.
